How to Add Custom Stickers to Telegram: Step-by-Step (2026)
October 23, 2026 · 6 min read
Telegram has the best sticker support of any messaging app - animated stickers, custom packs, and a built-in bot for managing everything. If you've made your own AI stickers with StickerAI, here's exactly how to get them into Telegram.
What you need
- Telegram on Android, iPhone or desktop
- Your sticker PNGs (512×512, transparent background - StickerAI outputs exactly this)
- About 5 minutes
Step 1: Create a sticker set with the Stickers bot
- Open Telegram and search for @Stickers - the official bot.
- Send the command /newpack.
- Give your pack a name, e.g. "Morning Vibes".
- Send a short pack name (used for the share link), e.g. "MorningVibes".
- Now send your first sticker image - it must be a PNG with a transparent background, under 512KB.
- Send an emoji to associate with the sticker.
- Repeat for each sticker (packs work best with 5-20 stickers).
- When finished, send /publish and pick an icon for the pack.
- Done - your pack is live and searchable by its short name.
Step 2: Add your own AI stickers to that set
Made new stickers later? Open @Stickers again and use /addsticker to add more PNGs to your existing pack - no need to rebuild anything.
Step 3: Manage and share your pack
- Share: send the bot link with your short name, e.g. t.me/addstickers/MorningVibes
- Reorder: use /order to rearrange stickers
- Delete: use /delsticker to remove a single sticker
- Set a cover: use /setpackicon to change the pack icon
Pro tips for Telegram stickers
- Telegram supports animated stickers (TGS format) - not needed for personal use, but nice for popular packs
- Stickers should feel consistent: same art style and similar character energy
- Short phrases render better than long sentences on a 512×512 canvas
- Use the emoji field well - it controls which emoji suggestions surface your sticker in the picker
💡 Tip: StickerAI's transparent PNGs are already 512×512 - the exact size Telegram wants. No resizing needed.
